It is important that you check before the journey whether your puppy or dog is completely healthy and in perfect condition. On long journeys dogs and puppies get tired and stressed and may have a bad time.

If your pet is very restless, consult your vet, who may recommend some mild tranquillisers.

It is essential that your puppy is already accustomed to your car, if not we recommend that before the trip you make a short trip so that the puppy gets used to the room and the car. You can also put him to sleep in the car for half an hour, or let him explore the interior.

Before you start your journey

Make sure your puppy is transported safely, preferably in an approved carrier that is properly anchored to your car. If you don’t have a carrier, your puppy should ride in the back of the car in a special dog harness. You can also install a separation fence.

A few hours before the journey, you should feed him, but not too much. If this is not possible, it may be better to wait until you get to your destination. You should also make sure that he wears a collar, an identification tag with your address and contact numbers and of course the obligatory microchip, so that you won’t have any problems!

During the journey

Make sure your puppy can move, stand and turn around and lie down comfortably.
Hydrate your puppy at all times by giving him the water he needs.

Make stops every now and then to give him some exercise and relieve any stress he may have from the journey.
