\nToday, around noon, it\u2019s time to prep food for the puppies. We\u2019re making about four days\u2019 worth, and we usually go with 100% chicken meat. Thing is, we didn\u2019t have time to grind up the veggies this time, so we grabbed the usual supermarket stuff\u2014pureed pumpkin and carrot. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

It\u2019s simple: we toss about a kilo into each bowl, which adds up to roughly 15 kilos of food. Doing it yourself is way cheaper, but some days, time just isn\u2019t on your side. If you buy the pumpkin, boil it, and blend it up yourself, it\u2019s a lot better\u2014though, yeah, there are days when that\u2019s just not happening.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

After that, we throw in some apple\u2014chopped up nice and small. Usually, we\u2019d add some anchovies too, but we were short on time today, so no biggie.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

But here\u2019s the thing: the quality of meat, like chicken, blows any commercial kibble out of the water. It\u2019s not just about muscle quality\u2014it\u2019s the nutrients that do wonders for their skin and coat. You see a real difference with natural food.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Plus, if you go for a 100% natural meat diet, it\u2019s leaps and bounds better than kibble with sketchy ingredients. Sure, they\u2019ll tell you kibble has ash, but why do we even want ash? Dogs come from wolves\u2014they need meat, not ash.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nAt our kennel, we\u2019ve got about 20 adult dogs, and each one\u2019s got different needs. Some eat more, some less. A few need to drop some weight, so we tweak their portions. Others are underweight, and we bump up their food to get them where they need to be. It\u2019s not like having just one dog at home\u2014here, it\u2019s all about balance, dialing in the right amount so every dog hits their ideal weight.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
